Caicle for Mac · Preview

Your workspace, native on your Mac

The same Caicle workspace, in an app that stays open while you work. Watch agent runs live, get a notification the moment a bulk research run or an agent run finishes, and start a lookup from the menu bar without hunting for a browser tab.

This is an unsigned preview build

Version 0.1.0 is an early preview. It is not yet signed with our Apple Developer ID or notarised by Apple, so macOS asks you to confirm before it opens the app for the first time. The signed release will replace it on this page. Install that one over the preview when it arrives, because the preview cannot update itself to it.

How to open the preview

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag Caicle into Applications.
  2. Open Caicle from Applications. macOS says it cannot verify the app: click Done.
  3. On macOS 15 or later, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll to Security and click Open Anyway next to the message about Caicle, then confirm with your password. On macOS 13 or 14, Control-click Caicle in Applications, choose Open, then click Open again.
  4. Caicle opens and remembers your choice. Sign in with your browser as usual.

Getting started

Three steps, then you are in

  1. 01

    Download and open

Open the downloaded file and drag Caicle into Applications. This preview is not yet notarised, so the first time you open it macOS asks you to confirm: follow the steps under How to open the preview.

  2. 02

    Sign in with your browser

Caicle opens your browser to sign in, so your saved Caicle login and your password manager work as usual. The app never sees your password.

  3. 03

    Your workspace is linked

Approve this Mac once and let your browser open Caicle, and the app opens straight into your workspace. You can revoke this Mac at any time in Settings, then Devices.

What the app adds

Everything in the console, plus what a browser tab does badly

Same workspace, same data, same permissions. The app adds the parts that belong on the desktop.

  • Live agent runs

Ops Console tool calls and Strategy Room waves stream into the app as they happen, in a window that stays put when you close your browser.

  • Native notifications and a Dock badge

A macOS notification tells you when a bulk research run finishes, or when an agent's work is ready for your review, and the Dock icon counts what is unread. Click a notification to land on the right page.

  • Quick research from the menu bar

Press a global shortcut from any app, type a domain and press Return. The research runs in your workspace and opens when it is ready.

  • Drop a CSV on the Dock icon

Drag a list of domains onto the Caicle icon to research them in bulk, in the background, without an upload form.

  • Native file saving

Reports, PDFs and CSV exports save through the standard macOS dialog, straight to the folder you choose.

System requirements

  • macOS 13 or later
  • A Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel processor: one universal app runs natively on both
  • An internet connection: your workspace lives on Caicle's servers in the EU, not on the Mac
  • A Caicle account on any plan, including the free trial

Security and privacy

  • Sign-in tokens are encrypted with a key held in the macOS Keychain. The app never stores your password.
  • The app does not keep a copy of your workspace data on the Mac. Your data stays in your workspace, hosted in the EU.
  • Every Mac is listed in Settings, then Devices, where you or a workspace admin can revoke it at any time.
  • This preview is not yet signed with our Apple Developer ID or notarised by Apple. Release builds will be, and will replace it on this page.
  • No analytics inside the app.

Questions, answered

The app is free on every plan, including the 14-day free trial. It signs in to the workspace you already have, so there is nothing extra to buy and nothing extra to set up.

Caicle hands sign-in to your browser so the app never sees your password, and so whatever you already use to sign in just works, such as a saved login or a password manager. You approve the Mac once in the browser, allow the browser to open Caicle, and you are back in the app.

Both. Caicle for Mac is a universal app that runs natively on Macs with Apple silicon and on Intel Macs, with macOS 13 or later.

For this preview that is expected: it is not yet notarised by Apple. Check that the file came from caicle.io and that its SHA-256 matches the checksum on this page, then allow it once. On macOS 15 or later, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway. On macOS 13 or 14, Control-click the app and choose Open. Release builds are notarised, so macOS only asks its usual first-launch question.

Sign in on the web, open Settings, then Devices, and revoke that Mac. It is signed out and its access stops working. Workspace owners and admins can revoke any member's Mac, and changing or resetting your password on the web signs out all of your Macs.

No. Your workspace lives on our servers in the EU and research reads live public sources, so the app needs an internet connection. It reconnects on its own when you are back online.

No. On Windows and Linux, use Caicle in any current browser: it is the same workspace, without the native extras on this page.
